CBC Worship Leader

Celebration Baptist Church is looking for someone serve the church through the ministry of preparing and leading the congregation to engage with God through the musical portion and other assigned elements of services. This will involve planning with and assisting the Lead Pastor, as well as preparing and leading the Praise Team on a weekly basis.

Spirituality and Calling:

The Worship Leader of Celebration Baptist Church will be expected to practice and exemplify an active walk with Christ, including a solid knowledge of the Bible. He shall embrace missional living, in line with the church’s mission to Love God, Love People, and Make Disciples; as well as the church’s vision to be a “Bold, Unstoppable Force” for Christ. He shall have a clear desire for ministry, and have a heart to minister to the people of Celebration. The Worship Leader

needs to be personable, enjoying his opportunities to carry out his ministry with the people he serves, encouraging them to a dynamic encounter with God, infusing worship services with quality, creativity, and an appropriate diversity of elements.


  • Assist Lead Pastor in the planning of worship services, especially focused on but not limited to the musical portion of service. This includes working with Lead Pastor with song selection for services taking into account the Biblical soundness of songs as well as the message/theme for the service/event.
  • Coordinate (including scheduling and communicating with participants) and lead (or delegate leadership of) weekly events including weekly rehearsal with Praise Team and AV Team members, Wednesday night services, AWANA music, and other special events such as holiday events, music for youth events, concerts, etc.
  • Prepare chord charts, lead sheets, or other needed music guides and materials by praise team. 
  • In conjunction with AV Team, prepare stage for use for various events - including setting up music stands, microphones, instrument connections, etc.
  • Oversee expansion, procurement, and installation of AV and music equipment, including future needs as well as refresh/replacement/repair of equipment.
  • Scheduling for Praise Team and AV Team for various events and rehearsals.
  • Develop members of team spiritually and musically, including investing in them relationally. If possible to lead the Praise Team in a spiritual focus through prayer, Bible Study, and other appropriate means.
  • Recruit and foster new members for AV and Praise team, including working with Youth Pastor to identify and develop upcoming talent.
  • Meet with staff on a regular basis.
  • Communicate with the congregation from time to time regarding the priority and content of worship.
  • Manage and submit expense reports for worship ministry.
  • Engage in personal development including attending conferences, training seminars, etc.
  • Report CCLI when requested.
  • Other duties as needed.

Required Qualifications:

  • Candidate must be able to display a strong walk with God.
  • Flexibility in willingness to serve the church body.
  • Display leadership qualities and a teachable spirit.
  • Be capable of leading worship service and Praise Team both vocally and musically, including leading worship with an instrument.
  • Experience with and/or understanding/willingness to learn about live music and AV equipment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Musical degree or significant musical training.
  • At least basic understanding of all common instruments/components of a modern band, including guitars, keyboard, drums, bass, etc. in order to guide and assist members with desired parts.
  • Understanding of different vocal parts in order to coordinate melodies and harmonies (tenor, bass, soprano, etc).
  • Willingness to lead AWANA worship on Sunday afternoons.
  • Calling to pastoral ministry.
  • Familiar with Planning Center.

This is a part-time salaried position offering a total package of $40,000.00 /year
